This summer, the strings of Leeds Baroque Orchestra, directed by their newly appointed leader Asuka Sumi, bring a feast of Venetian Baroque music to The Old Woollen at Sunny Bank Mills! The programme includes Monteverdi’s ballet music from il Ballo delle Ingrate written for the wedding ceremony of Francesco Gonzaga, Giovanni Gabrieli’s canzona in a concertato style written for St. Mark’s Basilica and a perennial favourite, Vivaldi’s most inventive Violin concerto ‘Summer’ from the Four Seasons.
