Jesus Jones' kinetic mix of samples, pop, dance, and techno resulted in one huge international hit single, "Right Here, Right Now." Known for their strong melodies and hooks, and for meshing club overtones with traditional rock guitar, the group, alongside contemporaries like EMF, the Shamen, and Pop Will Eat Itself, helped shape the '90s alternative rock scene by showing that sample-driven dance music could comfortably fit into pop music. While their popularity faded in the early 2000s, they continued to perform and record, albeit sporadically, with their sixth studio long-player, Passages, arriving in 2018 after a lengthy hiatus.

Founded in 1988 by frontman Mike Edwards, Jerry De Borg, Al Doughty, Iain Baker, and Gen (Simon Matthews), the band received a considerable amount of buzz with the release of their debut album Liquidizer in 1989.

Plus special guests 'Champ Kind'.

One man’s fantastical and hilarious quest to unravel the occult secrets of a unique family ‘hairloom’.

After inheriting a 100-year old moustache, David Bramwell (Cult of Water / Sing Along A Wicker Man) embarks on a ten-year odyssey to discover all he can about its former owner, a Victorian freakshow host called Ambrose Oddfellow. His quest draws him into the underbelly of Brighton – its séances, spiritual churches and a seedy basement club – where he unwittingly becomes the host of a modern-day freakshow. Coming to believe that his ‘hairloom’ is possessed, Bramwell joins a cult, dabbles with Amazonian psychedelics and comes close to losing the plot entirely.

How is the world’s smallest theatre and a mysterious Salvador Dali model, Drako Zarhazar, connected with his heirloom? Can Bramwell solve the mystery before his sanity gives in? This award-winning monologue is a supernatural coming-of-age story, an exploration into magic and the nature of reality, and an affectionate portrayal of England’s rich counterculture. It’s quite funny, too.

Sony Silver Award ‘Best Feature’ for BBC Radio 3 dramatisation.

Best Comedy Award – Brighton Fringe.

Outstanding Theatre Award – Fringe Review.

A childfree badass on the search for orgasm equality... With over 150 million views and 250k followers online this award-winning stand-up is back at The Old Woollen with an award nominated sex positive, high energy banger about the pleasure gap.

In a world where women in heterosexual relationships still do the bulk of housework and childcare yet orgasm the least during sex, Conway asks - are we really that far along in the fight for gender equality? Who really benefits from marriage and babies? And how can straight women finally negotiate equal pleasure in the bedroom?

Conway has sold out three worldwide tours. Her 2021 show "Vaxxed and Waxxed" sold out a 41 show run at the Edinburgh Festival last year, as well as making its New York debut. You may recognise her from The Guardian, BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour, Talk Radio, The Times Radio, Stylist, BBC Radio 5 Live's Nihal Show or BBC 4 Extra. Eleanor's online videos have gained 100s of millions of views for her off the cuff on the street interviews. She has been banned from Tinder for life.

"And then there’s this guy named Bob Log, you ever heard of him? He’s this little kid — nobody ever knows how old he is — wears a motorcycle helmet and he has a microphone inside of it and he puts the glass over the front so you can’t see his face, and plays slide guitar. It’s just the loudest strangest stuff you’ve ever heard. You don’t understand one word he’s saying. I like people who glue macaroni on to a piece of cardboard and paint it gold. That’s what I aspire to basically” - Tom Waits

A member of Kraftwerk during the group’s golden era, Wolfgang Flür was the band’s electronic percussionist from 1973 to 1987.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Flür became the third member of the band in 1973, replacing a drum machine. He was a member of the group from their international breakthrough with the album Autobahn (1974) and remained as they experimented with proto techno on albums such as Trans-Europe Express (1977) and Computer World (1981).

“I wish I could say here our story starts. But this story starts later, and ended earlier. Is entirely fictional, and completely true. Voila.”

In 2021, Hannah Maxwell moved back to the Home Counties to care for her terminally ill grandfather. But this show isn’t about that. It’s about France’s Eurovision star Barbara Pravi, who’s just lovely.

In between cooking, cleaning and Countdown, Maxwell escapes into an intensifying fantasy of ballroom dances, heartfelt ballads, Parisian cafés, fluent French and definitely-not-creepy plots to engineer a meetcute with a random foreign celebrity. It’s La La Land meets Mission Impossible meets Hannah’s nan.

Combining spoken-word, video and chanson francaise, NAN, ME & BARBARA PRAVI sits you down at the kitchen table to talk through grief and care, addiction and recovery, and hope and coping in unprecedented times.
